Payday Haul (2)

Just another reason to go shopping and spend all my money on pretty little things :) My brother and I decided to go to chavport a.k.a Stockport for a spot of retail therapy and spend our hard earned cash.

First shop: Primark
Cosy Pattern Jumper - £12
Lovely peachy pink slightly oversized jumper with white spots that isn't a thick jumper so is good for the transitioning weather from super chilly to quite chilly!
Fashion nails - £1 each, Nail art pen sets - £2, Earrings - £2, Hairbrush - £2.50, Face Wipes - £1
I don't know when I'm going to ever have time to use all these nails up but they had such a huge selection I went a little crazy and bought five sets. My favourites are the blue ombre ones I think they'll be perfect for when I go on my jolly holiday!

Shop 2 - Topshop
Fluffy Pink Crop Jumper - £32
Snake print A-line skirt £32
Grey skirt with cream lace hem detail - £20
3 for £8 socks
Topshop Lipstick in Saint £8
Rings - £2.50 - £10
The lady thought I was insane buying this many rings but I can't help my obsession.

Shop 3 - Superdrug
Barry M Nail Polishes L-R Gelly in Mango, Blossom, Pearl, Meadow, Mist and Gelly Passion Fruit.
I love the Gelly polishes because of the high shine effect that they leave on your nails so I wanted to try out their new Silk range in cute pastel shades that leave your nails matte but with a sheen.

Shop 4 - River Island
High waisted shorts with belt £30
I loved the frayed edges and also the belt because normally belts that come with clothes are really bad quality and look pretty minging, but this one looks pretty good quality and has gorgeous gold hardware and detailing with a gold lion on the buckle a gold chain around the side.
Burnt out tee with flower and jewel detailing - £18
Again another number for my holiday, perfect for the day to put over a bikini or even with a vest underneath for the evening.

I can't wait for the day I can wear every single pair of those bad boy nails!
What's your guilty pleasure/impulse buy?

February 2014 Glossybox!

Oh.my.goody.gosh!
Best one yet!
First off the box is just fabulous! Obviously Valentines themed (boo!) with lots of different shades of red and pink lipstick kisses (which links in with their competition on the inside...). It was obvious that February's box would be Valentines/pretty pink and girly things themed and I was thoroughly impressed since many of the last boxes I have received were shockingly awful.
So I was greeted by six very different items and six items that I was rather excited to get!
First off: CHOCOLATE, LINDT CHOCOLATE! Lindt is the best tasting chocolate on this planet and I've never had a bar of it only the little chocolate balls you get at Christmas and Easter and I thought it was a cute little touch ya know for all those single pringles out there who might want to indulge in a fair bit of chocolate on V-Day (e.g me) and at 79p its fairly cheap for a Lindt product. I may have to buy more as we got a code for 25% off our next purchase, ooooh!

Ciaté London Pain Pot in Red Hot Chilli - Full Size £9 for 13.5ml
"Do you want stunningly sophisticated looking nails? Look no further than a Ciate Paint Pot. These lovingly chosen and high performance formulas provide you with an effortless nail colour."
This was the product I got most excited about. I've always wanted to try one of these polishes, they've always had amazing reviews and the actual pot is so cute with the little black bow on the front. The colour is an orangey- red and is so pigmented. It says apply two coats and a "speed coat" to seal in the manicure but man this only really needs one coat and its a block red colour. I've worn it all weekend and haven't chipped them as of yet. I think now I am definitely going to invest in some more colours of these beauties!

Nougat London Sparkling Body Shimmer Full Size £14 for 250 ml.
"Add radiance to your skincare regime with Sparkling Body Shimmer. This body lotion with mallow extract, vitamin E and wheat-germ oil will leave your skin luxuriously perfumed with a hint of sparkle."
At first I thought this was more of a shower gel because of its consistency and colour/glitteryness but it is actually a really nice moisturiser. It sinks right into your skin and leaves it feeling smooth and glowing but I am not so keen on the glitter in it, it makes me feel like I'm back to being in the late 90's early 00's with roll on glitter as a child.
Toni & Guy Hair Meet Wardrobe Stick It Up Gum Full Size £7.20 for 90ml
"Fed up of fly-aways? Toni & Guy's Stick It Up Gum holds and controls for a gravity defying, high shine finish."
I'm not really one for applying anything other than hairspray to style my hair. I always found that waxes and gums made my hair look wet and greasy or end up with sticky white bits in my hair which is not a nice look. The product isn't gloopy and applys well to my hair but I don't think I will use this product much so I shall pass it onto my brother!

Maybelline New York Master Kajal Liner One Size £5.99 for 13g
"Master the art of seductive eyes and inner line intensity in one easy stroke with Maybelline's Master Kajal cream-stick liner."
Second favourite product. I am obsessed with eye liner and go through it like a mad woman. Its like one big black crayon that doesn't need to be sharpened. Which is amazing because sharpening eyeliners is the absolute bane of my life because I always end up spilling the shavings all over my floor so it will be a nice welcome change.
Miners Cosmetics Cocktail Kiss in Manhattan One Size £2.99 for 12ml
"Be the flavour of the month with Cocktail Kiss! Inspired by the world's best cocktails, each shade has its own unique flavour so you can whip up the perfect pout."
This lip gloss is based on the Manhattan cocktail which is Vermouth, Whisky, bitters, maraschino cherry and orange peel. It smells and tastes really sweet and the main scent is of the cherry. The actual gloss is a mixture of a glittery light pink and red colour all swirled together but as with most lip glosses its very gloopy and I really don't like that feeling on my lips and I hate it when I get my hair all caught up in it.

I'm glad that this months box offered a wide variety of products and with brands that I haven't heard of or tried before.
What did you think of this months box?
What was your favourite product?

Valentines Nails

I am a bitter twisted young woman who hates valentines day and all the lovey dovey cards and presents and general red and pink stuff that sits on the shelfs until they are took over by the yummy Easter eggs (can't wait for that day!) but I am trying to get in the spirit so here goes with some PINK themed nails woo!

I got this perfect bright pink colour called Pretty Little Heartbreaker by Seche in a Glossybox one month and thought it was gorgeous. It's a really bright almost neon pink. I've seen that colourful tips are a big trend at the moment on nails so instead of having this intense colour all over, just apply to the ends like a French manicure.

Now I am no nail technician/ artist but I like to mess around with my nails when I can at the weekend and when I'm off from work (boo you sainsburys for not letting me wear nail varnish). This is just the tips done again but in St. James' by Nails Inc with a really shitty accent nail heart with a black and pink Barry M glittery nail varnish.

Again I am no professional so it us by no means neat or fabulous looking but you get the gist! I used Matt White by Barry M and the Seche pink for the dots and I used the end of a hair grip for the dots ( the last two fingers clearly worked better than the first two ha oh dear).

I've seen loads of posts about Ted Bakers Faked To Perfection nails in Rose Gold which are £8 from Boots, so I decided to do my own take on them using the Me Me Me nail varnish in Elegant for the tips. This is my favourite one of the bunch, not only because it's the neatest but I think it looks fun and quirky.

I hate valentines :(

EOS Lipbalms

We've seen all the celebrities using them from Miley Cyrus in her "We Can't Stop" music video, to the Kardashian's instagramming their favourite lip balm to other celebrities such as Jennifer Love-Hewitt and Nicole Scherzinger.
But what makes these lip balms so amazing that they are the must-have product in Hollywood?! Well I bloody had to find out!
Working in a cold environment I am always using lip balms because my lips end up from dry and cracked and really do not look good at all. I tend to find a lot of lip balms make my lips look one million times worse by clumping in little white blobs on my lips. I had a cheeky check on their website to get the info on these luscious eggs and found that they are 100% natural and are "Gluten-free, Paraben-free, Petrolatum-free amd Phthalate-free". So they are millions times betetr for your lips because you aren't layering on rubbish that could make your lips worse.
So I scoured the internet for the perfect bargain. I found a pack of five balms on Amazon (link here) for £15.16 including P&P all the way from America but it did take two weeks to arrive (boo) but the pack of five from here were so much more cheaper than buying them as single products from this country.

They come in this mint green little package with each little eos balms in its own little cubby hole with their respective flavours.

L-R Honeysuckle Honeydew, Passion Fruit, Summer Fruit, Sweet Mint and Strawberry Sorbet

They open with a little twist top and you are greeted by a little sphere of super soft and gorgeous smelling and tasting products. I've given away the two I favour the least; Honeysuckle Honeydew and the Sweet Mint to my Mother who took them to work with her to show off and all the ladies thought they were just amazing.

Apart from the lovely packing and the bright colours these are amazing because there is no need to be dipping your fingers in gloopy pots of Vaseline and aren't coloured so don't leave clumpy bits of colour on your lips. And personally for me I can keep them in my pocket at work because there is no chance that I have nicked it from there (I have to hide my Nivea lip balm in my First Aid pouch teehee).

Have you used these lip balms before?
Which one is your favourite?
Do you have a favourite lip balm brand that you just love?

Jewel Candle

Today was made just a little bit more exciting when I got home at 10.15pm from a boring last day at work for four days when I saw a cheeky package with my name on it. As I normally do, I had forgotten what I had ordered and when I opened it I found my beautiful new Jewel Candle. It's basically a tall candle in a glass case and placed in the wax is a jewel of your choice, either a pair of earrings or a ring. I chose a ring because I am just obsessed with them at the moment. Jewel Candle state that your jewel will range from £10-£250
And you basically burn the candle down until you can pull out the piece of jewellery that is wrapped carefully and safely in silver heat-resistant foil with a pair of tweezers (don't want to burn your fingers now!) and you'll have your piece of jewellery!

They have many different scents to choose from. I chose the candy floss candle because it was bright pink and I just love sweet smelling stuff and I can categorically tell you it smells AMAZING! Like heaven!  They are even doing Valentines Day special candles which would be an amazing gift for the person you love! They range from about £14- £25 depending on whether you choose earrings or ring and the scent.

I can't wait to burn it down some more and find my cheeky little gift, even though I'm not allowed to have it in my room because knowing me I will burn the house down!

Have you ever heard of Jewel Candle or have got one of these bad boys?
Do you know of any other surprise gifts like these?!

The Liebster Award!

Not been blogging for long and it feels good that people who have no idea who you are actually read the silly little things you write on here! The sweet Isabel from I is for Isabel has nominated little old me for the award!
From what I have googled its an award given to bloggers by bloggers and is aimed at the newbies to give them more recognition and followers! There seem to be only a few simple rules these are:
1. Thank the person that nommed you! (of courseee) and post a link to their blog in yours.
2.Display the award on your blog ^^^^^^
3. answer the 11 questions set by the tagger.
4. nominate more blogs with less than 200 followers and create 11 questions for those to answer!

Simple really! And a great way of finding new and interesting blogs that you may have never found before! So here goes with the quezzies!

1. If you could dye your hair any other colour, what would it be?
AHHH, i have been most hair colours under the sun and if I did not work at Sainsburys I would have candyfloss pink hair! I have been good and not dyed my hair in 9 months after frazzling it with bleach in my blonde days and dying it every week when it was red. Trying to love it more :)

2. When you're not blogging, what do you do for fun?
I love the gym. I like to be able to shove my headphones in, listen to some music and sweat my arse off. I also enjoy going to the cinema and enjoy drawing alot. I also love to read!

3. On a big night out, are heels a must?
NOOOO! Heels + alcohol are not a good mix! I much prefer to wear chunky boot heels with jeans or a cute dress in the day time when I feel more in control than on a night out! Flats FTW!

4. What is your favourite item of clothing you own?
My *cough* fake *cough* leather jacket from Miss Selfridge. I wear it all the time and I just feel that you can wear it with pretty much anything to give your outfit a little bit of an edge.

5. Where would you love to be right now?
Somewhere hot, where the sun is shining and I can just lay out, get a tan and just feel relaxed. I do not do well in winter months.

6. What is a name you really hate?
Cannot stand names like Chardonnay or all these crazy celebrity fads of calling their child after a fruit or some random animal. Its just like why can't we stick to the classics?

7. Who is your celebrity idol right now?
Ohhhhh Katy Perry. I just want to be her. She is just perfection.

8. Guilty pleasure music?
Oh my, when I'm in one of those moods I tend to stick on all the Disney classics as well as all the High School Musical songs and good old Hannah Montana, despite being nearly 23, I'm still 11 at heart.

9. Name three essential items you need in your bag when you go out?
Okay first off is my tangle teaser. What a brilliant little hairbrush. Its so little and compact so will fit in my smaller bags on a night out and does wonders when my hair gets all knotty and grim.
I also must have chewing gum. I hate it when people get in my face and breath their stench on me, so I try not to do the same back. Just politeness really ;).
Third is eyeliner. I was debating between mascara and eyeliner, but eyeliner prevailed because that's more likely to fall off my face than the mascara. I have naturally long eyelashes so a couple of coats of mascara does me for the night, whereas my eyeliner likes to disappear off my water line.

10. Favourite dessert.
Chocolate fudge cake and ice cream from Pizza Express. Oh.my.god. Pure gorgeousness on a plate. I could eat there everyday for the rest of my life.

11. Describe an ideal weekend.
Hmmm, wake up and have something yummy for breakfast like croissants and fresh orange juice. Spend copious amounts of money on things I really don't need. Go out for a lovely dinner, then chill for the rest of the weekend in my onesie watching films and drawing peoples faces!

I shall nominate.....
None of you have to do this, all a bit of fun! But thought I would pass it on!

Here are my questions::
1. One thing you can't leave the house without.
2. If you were a superhero, what super powers would you have?
3. On a night out would you grab a clutch bag or a over the shoulder strappy one?
4. Ridiculous/weird celebrity crush
5. Biggest achievement?
6. Cereal: better at breakfast or any other time of the day?
7. If you could be on the cover of a magazine, which one would you choose?
8. What is the nicest thing anyone has done for you?
9. If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?
10. The one song you just can't get out of your head at the moment.
11.The one food you could never give up!

Thanks guys, remember you don't have to its all fun and games :)

Best and Worst January 2014

I love to try out new products all the time, trying to find the one that suits me perfectly. Last month I bought two new products that excited me. The first being the Fudge Urban hairspray in a eye catching, gorgeous bright pink and orange bottle scented with Iced Raspberry and Vanilla.
"indulge the senses and lock in your style with seductive Urban Iced Raspberry & Vanilla Strong Hold hairspray. Spray all over your finished style for soft to touch hair and 24 hours of hold. Anti frizz properties smooth and seal loose ends leaving your hair feeling natural while keeping your style in place all day!"

First off; the scent. It smells ever so slightly of raspberry and vanilla. It still has that chemical hairspray smell which ruins the whole excitable illusion of it going to smell super duper sweet and yummy.
Secondly, it does not leave your hair smooth. I know its a very strong hold hairspray and they tend to make your hair stiffen slightly but this takes it too a whole new level. No matter how far away I sprayed, it made my hair very matted and didn't look smoothed out and more frizzy than I started out with. I also noticed that by the end of the day I had little patches of dry hairspray that looked like frikkin dandruff (the last thing you would want!). Apart from the pretty bottle and the ever so slightly different scent to other hairspray's its a total waste of money and will be rarely used. Maybe I'll spray it as a home fragrance! 2/10

The second product I bought was the W7 Prime Magic Anti-Dull Skin Balancing Primer - Camera Ready. I'd never heard of this brand before and only came across it when looking for a new , but relatively cheap primer to buy on Amazon. I checked the reviews and they all seemed pretty positive and for £2.90 it seemed like a total winner.

The colour was a bit scary at first, BRIGHT PURPLE and it is quite thick compared to other primers I have used before. But this is a little purple miracle! Once applied it makes your skin feel so soft as if you've pampered yourself all day with face masks. My foundation goes on my skin like a dream now, its more even and the primer gives me a healthy glow which I don't have without it. It fills in all those unsightly pores and even slightly hides my acne scars. It also makes my make up stay on all day! I applied my foundation at about half 1 this afternoon, had a sweaty session at the gym and 9 hours later my foundation still looks pretty darn good! I'm definitely sticking with this primer! Cheap and cheerful but does the job better than any other more expensive products I've ever used. 9/10 Highly recommend.
